With Mitt Romney’s choice of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate, the focus of this Sunday’s television talk shows will be squarely on the new Republican Romney-Ryan ticket.
Romney surrogate Tim Pawlenty, the former Minnesota governor who abandoned his own bid for the Republican presidential nomination nearly a year ago, is slated for both ABC’s “This Week” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
ABC also has David Axelrod, a chief strategist for President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign, along with former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean and California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, both Democrats, sitting in on a political roundtable discussion.
CNN’s “State of the Union” also hosts Axelrod and Romney campaign senior adviser Ed Gillespie and Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.).
CBS’s “Face the Nation” has Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter and Romney senior adviser Eric Fehrnstrom, as well as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who also bowed out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination.
